This year our Olio Nuovo is made from solely from the Manzanillo olive; a great mix of both ripe black olives and kicky green--so it has both a rich black olivey nose and flavor, plus a tuscan-like kick of a pungency in the throat--so for the peeps who want a "strong" oil, this is it! This is an unconventional blend--from opposite ends of the spectrum-- rock hard green and super soft black, but we love the way it turned out.  This oil is great for body oil, too, as it is rich with anti-oxidents.  The compound that causes the burn in the throat is a cox inhibitor--the active ingredient in ibuprophen--so it's an inflammation fighter.  This oil was produced in mid-October 2009, so at a few weeks old is one of the freshest oils on the market.  Enjoy!
