Our Commitment to Eco-Conscious Practices

As a company closely connected to the whims of farming and the Earth, we try to consider our ecological impact as much as possible. From eco-conscious shipping materials, to bulk/refill options so our customers can buy less single-use glass bottles, we are constantly thinking about how to do better for our world. Here's why you should feel good about shopping with us and how you can help make the most of your next purchase:

#1 Buy in Bulk:

Less packages = less of a carbon footprint and less cost for you. A bigger box costs a whole lot less than a new box. This is also why we offer free shipping on larger orders - it's better for everyone!

Less to remember: Stock up and have what you need on hand, no need to get online and order again (or have to supplement with mediocre olive oil from the grocery store) because you're out of basics! Stock up for yourself or go in with a neighbor or family member to split a bigger order.

Less glass bottles in landfills: Only about 30% of glass is recycled here in the US (compared to 90% in many European countries). Our super popular 3 & 10 Liter bulk containers allow you to re-use and refill your bottles at home, rather than buying single-use bottles each time! We now make almost ALL of our oils in these bulk sizes. More info on bulk sizes on our FAQ page here.

#2 Eco-conscious materials:

Please do your part to reuse, recycle, compost, and responsibly dispose of shipping materials in this new extra-shipping heavy world. We use:
  • Biodegradable Starch-Based Packing Peanuts
  • Paper Tape
  • Recycled Paper Pulp Trays
  • Post-Consumer Newsprint Paper
  • 100% Recycled Padded Envelopes
  • Cardboard Boxes (incorporating some post-consumer content)
  • 100% Recycled Paper Recipe Cards with Soy-Based Inks
  • Plus we sell many items to help you make your life more eco-friendly, such as Silicone Suction Lids (use less plastic wrap) and Swedish Sponge Cloths (use less paper towels).

#3 Sustainable Farming Practices:

While most of our oils are not currently certified organic, they are in transition to be, and are grown sustainably by small farms with no spray - pesticides, herbicides, etc - ever used on the trees/fruit. We work directly with our farmers to ensure their practices are in alignment with ours around this. In addition, all of the fruit and herbs that are used to make our fused oils are certified organic. The quality of the product and this sustainability of what we're creating is super important to us.

Thank you for your support and consideration when you shop with us!
